Dental Assisting

Start your new career in as little as 9 short months!

The Dental Assistant training program will teach you everything you need to know for a rewarding career in dental assisting.

With more people going to the dentist than ever before, there are tons of opportunities for Dental Assistants. Learn everything you need to know to get started in this needed, interesting and steady occupation.

In the Dental Assisting program you will:

  • Gain the skills and preparation needed to take the Dental Assisting National Radiology Exam.
  • Learn chairside assisting skills, become proficient in taking radiographs and impressions, learn the latest techniques in infection control, gain expanded assisting skills in temporary crowns and restorations, and more.
  • Receive Ongoing Placement assistance. Each PCI campus has full-time Graduate Employment Specialists dedicated to helping all of our graduates find that job that is just right for them.

Porter and Chester Institute graduates who complete the Dental Assistant program are well paid, respected, and enjoy a large degree of job security.

Classes are available either during the day or the evening

  • Morning Dental Assisting classes meet for 9 months and consist of 39 credit hours (600 actual classroom and lab hours plus 300 hours of externship) of instruction. The attendance schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7:55 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (No afternoon class)
  • Evening classes meet for 12 months and consist of 39 credit hours (600 actual classroom and lab hours plus 300 hours of externship) of instruction. The attendance schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to
    10:25 p.m.
