Today's Electrician is an integral part of our high tech worldwide economy. Connecticut and Massachusetts, together with the United States, and the entire world's industries and developing technologies are now, and will continue to be, powered by electricity.

Emerging "Green energy" technologies, like wind and solar, require connection to the world's electrical grid. Trained with the necessary knowledge and experience you will be able to choose from a wide range of existing and developing career fields to explore.

In the Electrical Technology program you will:

• Prepare to take the L-6 and E-2 license exams to become a certified electrician.
• Develop a deep understanding of the National Electrical Code and how to apply it so that the installations you complete are safe for yourself and the occupants.
• Learn how to install electrical power distribution systems in a variety of settings, including manufacturing plants, multi-story office buildings, and homes.
• Receive Ongoing Placement assistance. Each PCI campus has full-time Graduate Employment Specialists dedicated to helping all of our graduates find that job that is just right for them.

Acquire the knowledge to repair motors, transformers, generators and electronic controllers on machine tools and industrial robots.

The Electrical Technology program is designed to give you the theory critical to understanding the science of electrical power transmission and distribution, the safety requirements involved in working in this field via hundreds of hours of real world hands-on training and experience.

Classes are available either in the morning, afternoon, or evening

• Morning and afternoon Electrical Technology classes meet for 12 months and consist of 60 credit hours (1200 actual hours) of instruction. The attendance schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. or 12:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
• Evening classes meet for 18 months and consist of 60 credit hours (1200 actual hours) of instruction. The attendance schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:15 p.m. to 10:55 p.m.
