Medical Assisting

Start your new career in as little as 9 short months!

The PCI Medical Assisting program prepares you to become either a Certified Medial Assistant (CMA) or a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).

Gain the knowledge and skill required for competent performance in today's medical offices, hospitals, and other health services environments.

In the Medical Assisting program you will:

  • Train in clinical and administrative projects taken from actual medical office environments.
  • Prepare to take the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification tests.
  • Learn how to take blood pressures, perform EKG's and other medical lab procedures, assist physicians in various situations, as well as prep patients, set up schedules, and manage a medical office.
  • Receive Ongoing Placement assistance. Each PCI campus has full-time Graduate Employment Specialists dedicated to helping all of our graduates find that job that is just right for them.

Classes are available either during the day or the evening

  • Morning Medical Assisting classes meet for 9 months and consist of 42 credit hours (720 actual classroom and lab hours plus 180 hours of externship) of instruction. The attendance schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:25 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. (No afternoon class).
  • Evening classes meet for 15 months and consist of 42 credit hours (720 actual classroom and lab hours plus 180 hours of externship) of instruction. The attendance schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to
    10:00 p.m.
